The Three Miles team spent over a year gutting and remodeling this historic home in Richmond’s Fan District.
Each detail was intentionally designed and executed in order to make this home not only beautiful, but built to last.
Our favorite details
This Fan home’s original floors were in great shape, so we preserved them and cleaned them up. We also held on to the front door’s original stained glass features. The kitchen got a major remodel and modernization, and the roof got a handful of solar panels to lower this home’s carbon footprint.
We knocked down a few of the original walls in the home, and built large structural oak beams that span the length of the first floor and tie in with the skylights on the second. We made sure that there were plenty of skylights throughout the house in order to let as much sunlight as possible, and we also created a finished basement and an elevator that runs from the basement to the second floor of the home.
We are honored to have been a part of this project and so grateful to the owners for their patience and their willingness to experiment. The result is beautiful and we could not be happier!
